SECOND DAY
Our journey in time begins with a walk along the river that flows through the town, and where a line of elegant Venetian Villas is reflected. You can walk in the luxuriant nature of the nineteenth-century Parco Labia, rich in century-old plants, and a pond, an island of peace in the summer heat. Our trip continues in the sixteenth-century Villa “Badoer”, a UNESCO heritage site, designed by the famous architect Palladio which is also mentioned in one of his 4 books on Architecture. The colonnade of the villa is home to the National Archaeological Museum. Here are garnered many precious archaeological finds which can show to the commercial vocation of Fratta Polesine.The finds date back to a time between the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, valuable testimonies that are unique in Europe. Fine crafts of work items, bronze weapons, gold foils, ivory and amber glass. The trip continues to discover a nineteenth-century distillery which is still working, faithful to tradition. Here can be found ancient manuscripts of precious recipes for the preparation of spirits and liqueurs. The distillery offers a one-off experience for both taste and smell.
THIRD DAY
Another extraordinary place to discover and experience is an ancient mill, a jewel of industrial archeology, which today is an eco-museum. Inside there is an original and functioning machinery for grinding wheat and corn. Along the river that feeds the mill you can see Venetian rowing – the ancient technique of rowing for shallow waters still used by gondoliers in Venice to this day. A unique place to try dishes with typical products through ancient recipes. This journey will be a unique experience accompanied by tastings of high quality products which are hard to be found on the international market.
